Working trip of Kyrgyz Ambassador to Turkey to Kastamonu

Bishkek, Feb.14, 2020. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliyev paid working trip to Kastamonu city, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported on Friday. As part of the trip, Omuraliyev met with Yaşar Karadeniz, Governor of Kastamonu Province. The parties noted the need to expand trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, and also discussed the protection of citizens of Kyrgyzstan residing in Kastamonu Province. The Kyrgyz ambassador expressed a request for assistance in the issues of stay of Kyrgyz citizens in Kastamonu, the governor assured to assist all possible support. During the meeting with Deputy Mayor of Kastamonu Nuray Colak, an agreement was reached to restore ties and strengthen cooperation between sister cities Naryn and Kastamon. Kubanychbek Omuraliyev also held meeting with Rector of Kastamonu University Ahmet Topal, where issues in the field of education, as well as Kyrgyz students’ tuition at this university were discussed. As part of the trip, Ambassador Omuraliev met with members of the Board of Directors of the Kastamonu Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KATSO), made a presentation on investment opportunities in the Kyrgyz Republic and the conditions for doing business, and invited the business community to visit Kyrgyzstan. At the meeting with Kyrgyz citizens, Omuraliyev informed about the Embassy’s work on protection of rights and interests of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as about his meetings with local authorities. He also met with delegation of the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate for Migration, led by its Director Eshref Shahin. The sides discussed issues relating to the protection of the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens in Turkey, and the rights and obligations of foreign nationals residing in Turkey. Kastamonu is the capital district of the Kastamonu Province, Turkey. According to the 2000 census, population of the district is 102,059 of which 64,606 live in the urban center of Kastamonu. The district covers an area of 1,834 km2 (708 sq mi), and the town lies at an elevation of 904 m (2,966 ft). It is located to the south of the province. In 2018, Kastamonu was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world. The Province’s economy is based on industry (woodworking), agriculture, domestic tourism, etc.
