FMs of Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg discuss issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, Feb.14, 2020. /Kabar/. At the invitation of Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn, FM of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov paid his first-ever visit to Luxembourg.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, Aidarbekov held narrow and extended format meetings with his Luxembourg counterpart.
The two foreign ministers discussed increasing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Luxembourg.
The sides noted the importance of expanding the legal framework between the countries and the need to organize mutual visits at different levels to intensify bilateral relations across the entire spectrum of cooperation.
Aidarbekov stressed the priority of further expanding bilateral economic cooperation, and in this regard he invited the Luxembourg side to take an active part in the first "European Union-Central Asia: Partnership for Action on Green Economy” Economic Forum, to be held in summer 2020 in the Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek.
There was a broad dialogue on interaction between the two countries within international organizations and exchange of views on the international agenda.
The two sides noted with satisfaction the contribution to the development of bilateral relations made by renowned contemporary and world-renowned writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, who worked as Kyrgyz Ambassador to Luxembourg.
Minister Aidarbekov expressed gratitude to the Luxembourg side for the decision to name one of the streets of the capital of Luxembourg after Chyngyz Aitmatov.
The sides also considered ways to develop interregional cooperation, in particular, to increase ties with the village of Luxembourg of the same name in Kyrgyzstan.
The ministers discussed issues related to the development of draft bilateral agreements on flights, as well as in tax and banking spheres.
