Cultural and tourism cooperation issues between Kyrgyzstan, Hungary discussed

Bishkek, Feb.20, 2020./Kabar/. Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Azamat Jamankulov met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó. The meeting took place as part of the Hungarian FM’s working visit to Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Culture Ministry reported on Thursday. During the meeting, the two ministers discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in culture and tourism. Kyrgyzstan’s Culture Minister Jamankulov expressed gratitude to the Hungarian Foreign Ministry for active participation in the Second and Third World Nomad Games, held in Kyrgyzstan. In turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó noted Hungary, as an observer at the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council), has opened a Turkic representation in Budapest, and hopes Kyrgyzstan would take an active part in presenting Kyrgyz traditional culture through cooperation with this representation. Besides, the issue of opening of the Hungarian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan was touched upon. As a result, the sides agreed to work closely together and cooperate on all relevant issues. Yesterday, Feb. 19 Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó has paid official visit to Kyrgyzstan. During the one-day visit, the Hungarian FM held bilateral meetings with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, and heads of several ministries of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the meetings, issues of implementation of agreements on the results of the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, held in September 2019, as well as on further expansion and deepening of Kyrgyz-Hungarian cooperation through the organization of the visit of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Hungary in the first half of 2020 were discussed. The extended format meeting of FMs Aidarbekov and Szijjártó resulted in signing the Program of Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary for 2020-2021. Also, the foreign delegation attended the opening of the Hungarian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, which took place on Wednesday.
