Moscow to host opening of Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan, Russia with participation of two leaders

Bishkek, Feb.26, 2020. /Kabar/. The opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan in Russia and Russia in Kyrgyzstan will be held tomorrow, Feb. 27, in Moscow (Russia) with the participation of Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Russia Vladimir Putin, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Kyrgyz President’s Office Daniyar Sydykov said.
In total, more than 200 events in the political, economic, military and cultural and humanitarian spheres are planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan and Russia within the framework of the Cross Year, the President’s press service said.
The opening ceremony of the Cross Year will take place at the State Kremlin Palace.
As part of the event, gala concert with participation of creative teams from the two countries is expected.
Daniyar Sydykov recalled an agreement to hold the Cross Year was reached during Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kyrgyzstan in March 2019.
More than 50 documents worth over $6 billion were signed during the state visit, and are currently being implemented.
As part of the working visit to Russia, Sooronbay Jeenbekov is expected to hold on Feb. 27-28 bilateral meeting with Vladimir Putin.
In addition, bilateral talks are scheduled with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
The Kyrgyz leader will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and visit Kyrgyzstan Pavilion at Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow.
