Jeenbekov lays flowers at Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Moscow

Moscow, Feb.27, 2020. /Kabar/. A two-day working visit of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Russia began on Thursday with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin Wall in Moscow. The Kyrgyz leader honoured the memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence, his press service said. The event was attended by members of the official delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic. Today, Feb. 27 President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov has left for the Russian capital city of Moscow for two-day working visit. As part of the visit, Jeenbekov together with Russian leader Vladimir Putin will attend the opening ceremony of the Cross Year of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation and the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic, his press service said on Thursday. The opening ceremony of the Cross Year will take place at the State Kremlin Palace. As part of the event, gala concert with participation of creative teams from the two countries is expected. An agreement to hold the Cross Year was reached during Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kyrgyzstan in March 2019. More than 50 documents worth over $6 billion were signed during the state visit, and are currently being implemented. As part of the working visit to Russia, Sooronbay Jeenbekov is expected to hold on Feb. 27-28 bilateral meeting with Vladimir Putin. In addition, bilateral talks are scheduled with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev. The Kyrgyz leader will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and visit Kyrgyzstan Pavilion at Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow. In total, more than 200 events in the political, economic, military and cultural and humanitarian spheres are planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan and Russia within the framework of the Cross Year. President Jeenbekov is accompanied by: - Minister of Foreign Affairs Chingiz Aidarbekov; - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the President's Office Daniyar Sydykov; - Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Russia Alikbek Dzhekshenkulov; - Deputy Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Mirlan Bakirov; - Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiyev; - Seven members of the Kyrgyz Parliament; - Adviser to the President Oleg Pankratov.
