Putin on Cross Year: Our countries are implementing such large-scale project for first time

Moscow, Feb.29, 2020. /Kabar/. At the opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin noted this is the first time the two countries are implementing such a large-scale project.
"The Cross Year of Russia and Kyrgyzstan is indeed a big event for our countries. Russia and Kyrgyzstan are linked by strategic partnership and alliance relations, which are steadily developing in various directions. Intensive political ties and dialogues are being maintained between our countries. We regularly meet with President Jeenbekov, and today's talks have been held in a business and constructive manner," the Russian President said.
According to Putin, Kyrgyzstan and Russia are working together to ensure regional security, both bilaterally and within the CSTO.
The Russian leader also noted cooperation has been established within the EAEU, as well as large international projects in mining, transport and high technology are being implemented.
"Russia is one of the main energy resources suppliers to Kyrgyzstan. Our educational institutions continue to train qualified personnel for the Kyrgyz economy. Russia aims to further strengthen its diverse ties with Kyrgyzstan. We expect this to contribute to the success of the Cross Year of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. This is the first time our countries are implementing such a large-scale project," Putin stressed.
He stressed Kyrgyzstan and Russia are doing much to preserve the common history of the Great Patriotic War.
In addition, Vladimir Putin said Sooronbay Jeenbekov is waited for at the Victory Parade in Moscow.
The opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia took place yesterday, Feb. 27 at the Kremlin State Palace in Moscow.
Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has arrived in Russia for two-day working visit.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Russian leader Vladimir Putin delivered a speech at the ceremony.
The program of the gala concert presented a great variety of genres of musical and choreographic art in Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
During the Cross Year, concerts, performances, exhibitions and festivals with the participation of honored artists of Russia and Kyrgyzstan will be held at the largest cultural venues of the two countries.
