OIC Delegation concludes visit to Sweden 2 Jeddah

The OIC delegation briefed the Swedish officials on the new Charter,
vision and priorities of the organization and its transformation
process including the prospective setting up of an independent and
permanent OIC human rights commission.


The discussions centered on establishing direct and project- based
cooperation and consultation mechanism between the OIC and Sweden on
issues of mutual concern.


Consultations on various conflict areas as well as intercultural
dialogue and cooperation in the field of socio-economic development
in the least developed OIC countries featured with prominence during
the discussions.


The delegation also met with senior parliamentarians from different
political parties including the Deputy Speaker and the Secretary
General of the Swedish Parliament and discussed the ways and means of
reaching out to the grassroots of the both the Muslim and Western
societies with a message of peace, security and stability through
constructive dialogue and engagement.


The OIC delegation visited the Stockholm Mosque and met with the
representatives of the Swedish Muslims who briefed the delegation
about various social and cultural activities.
