Palestinian Embassy Distributes Aid To Its Community In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- The Palestinian Embassy in Malaysia has distributed a total of 228 food baskets to Palestinians in the capital and its surrounding areas since March 18 to aid those affected by the Movement Control Order (MCO) which was implemented following the spread of COVID-19.
Palestinian ambassador to Malaysia Walid Abu Ali said the food baskets, containing essentials such as beans, oil, rice, and macaroni, are worth RM50 for the single, RM 70 for small families, and RM100 for large families.
The ambassador said this after receiving a sponsorship cheque from NGO MyAQSA Foundation (MyAQSA). The cheque was presented by Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali at the Palestinian Embassy, here, on Monday.
Meanwhile, Palestinians outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor received cash assistance through online transactions – altogether worth about RM30,000.
“The donation of food baskets and cash is sponsored by the Palestinian government and Palestinian diplomats.
“We also, prior to this, received RM15,000 in cash from Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Islamic Affairs) Senator Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri on behalf of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim). and today we received RM15,000 in cash from MyAQSA,” he told Bernama.
