Russian foreign minister to visit two Koreas this week
SEOUL, April 21 (Yonhap) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov plans to visit
South Korea later this week to discuss the North Korean nuclear issue and
Seoul-Moscow ties, the South's foreign ministry announced Tuesday.
"Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit South Korea from April 24-25 at the
invitation of (South Korean) Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan," the ministry said
in a press release.
The ministers are scheduled to hold talks on Friday for "in-depth" discussions on
the North Korean nuclear problem and other issues of mutual concerns, it added.
Lavrov is also due to pay a courtesy call on South Korean President Lee
Myung-bak.
Sources said Moscow's top diplomat will also make a three-day trip to Pyongyang
from Wednesday.
