Moderate Quake Rattles Mindoro, Philippines

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- A moderate earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale rattles Mindoro, the Philippines at 2.16 am Monday. According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the quake occurred about 40 kilometres southwest of Batangas City, Philippines at a depth of 132km. However, it does not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
