Malaysian Hafizh Syahrin Happy To Bag Three Points In Teruel GP

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah is delighted to have clinched three points after finishing 13th out of 23 riders in Sunday’s Teruel Grand Prix at the Aragon Circuit. The Aspar Team Moto2 rider, who posted 39 minutes and 53.962 seconds in the 21-lap race, pointed out that he struggled in the early part of the race before managing to find his rhythm after several laps. “We took a gamble by changing the soft tyre in the rear, which helped me a lot during the turn. “In the last two laps, I tried to overtake (Petronas Sprinta Racing) Xavi Vierge, but his bike was very fast in the straight,” he said after the race. The audio of his comment was made available to Bernama by his personal media officer. Hafizh Syahrin now hopes to improve his performances in the upcoming back-to-back European GP (Nov 6-8) and Valencia GP (Nov 13-15) at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Spain. The 26-year-old rider has dropped two rungs to 20th place in Moto3 World Championship standings with 21 points after 12 races. -- BERNAMA
