Chamber Official speaks on prospects of joint projects

Dammam, April 28, SPA -- Secretary General of the chamber of commerce
and industry of the eastern region Adnan al-Naeem has reiterated the
available opportunities for implementing more joint projects in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He noted that there are more than 120 joint Saudi-German companies
in the country with an invested capital of more than SR 13.4 billion.

The remarks were made here yesterday at a meeting attended by a
number of Saudi and German businessmen.

He noted that the eastern region constitutes a suitable environment
for foreign investments and implementing joint projects notably for
the German companies which have earned a good reputation at the Saudi
markets.

On his part, Dr Thomas Bach, the head of the delegation of the
Arab-German chamber of commerce and industry, said the Arab-German
forum due to be held in Berlin next June will provide a good
opportunity to the Saudi and German businessmen to popularize their
products.

He said the Kingdom can market petrochemicals and food materials in
the German markets.

Trade exchange between the Kingdom and Germany amounted last year to
about 6.4 billion Euro.
