Deputy Foreign Minister Attends 17th ACD Ministerial Meeting Today

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 21 (Bernama) -- Deputy Foreign Minister Kamarudin Jaffar will be participating in the 17th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting which will be held virtually Thursday at 3 pm. Wisma Putra in a statement said the meeting, with the theme “The New Normal and Safe and Healthy Tourism”, would deliberate on key regional issues, particularly the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism sector and identify measures to revitalise the tourism industry post-pandemic. “The outcome document, the Ankara Declaration will be adopted during the meeting affirming ACD member states’ aspiration and dedication towards achieving a robust and resilient Asian region. “Malaysia is committed to work together with ACD member states in enhancing cooperation and creating a sustainable Asian community,” it said. The meeting would be chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, who is the incumbent Chair of ACD for the term 2019-2021. -- BERNAMA
