Saudi Aramco to participate in Marine Exercise

Dhahran, May 04, SPA -- Saudi Aramco will participate on Tuesday in a
large marine field exercise to be organized by the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia this year.


The exercise is part of a regional emergency plan to enhance
preparedness to meet any marine incidents that might lead to oil
spills and pollution of the sea waters and beaches.


Eng. Ali Al-Mohsen, the Global Coordinator of Response to Oil
Spill Incidents in Saudi Aramco said the company since last few weeks
began its preparations for its assigned role in this exercise, in
accordance with the national plan for combating marine oil pollution.


The convening of this exercise on the shores of the Eastern Region
of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes in response to the 14th
ministerial meeting of the Regional Organization for Protection of
Marine Environment, which includes all countries on the Arab Gulf and
each one organizes this biennial exercise.
