Governor briefed on additional 6,000 MW Electric Power for

Jeddah, May 04, SPA -- Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of
Makkah Region received here today the Executive President of Saudi
Electricity Company Eng. Ali bin Saleh Al-Barrak.


During the meeting, Al-Barrak briefed the Prince on the situation of
the electricity system in Makkah region, pointing out that the
company is currently executing projects to strengthen the power
generating capacity by an additional 6,000 Mega Watts (MW),
representing 50 percent of the power generation.


He said that the projects being implemented by the company to
strengthen the power generating capacity in Makkah and Madinah
regions over the next three years, are estimated to cost SR 38
billion.
