Jeddah Governor to grace ceremony of dispatching OIC Aid to Palestinians 2 Jeddah

Professor Ihsanoglu expressed appreciation for the efforts deployed
by the government and people of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of
the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in
supporting the Palestinian people. He also thanked Prince Khalid
Al-Faisal for his patronage of the event and for the support and
graceful presence of Prince Misha’al bin Majed bin Abdul-Aziz.


Prince Misha’al is scheduled to announce the start of dispatching
the humanitarian convoy. "Both His Royal Highness and the Secretary
General will see off the convoy, which will head for the OIC
logistical coordination unit based in El-Arish, Egypt, on its way to
Gaza".


A press conference will be held on the sidelines of the ceremony
that will outline the ongoing efforts in support of the Palestinian
people in the aftermath of the Israeli onslaught against Gaza.


Ambassador Atta Al-Mannan Bakheet, OIC Assistant Secretary General
for Humanitarian Affairs, will submit during the ceremony a report on
the assistance provided so far by the OIC Department of Humanitarian
Affairs to affected Gazans since the launch of the humanitarian
campaign for Gaza.


Ambassador Al-Mannan declared that this latest convoy is the third
to be dispatched by the OIC to Gaza. He pointed out that the convoy
is the largest one so far with more than forty truckloads of
humanitarian assistance.
