Indian Prime Minister To Visit Bangladesh

By Shakir Husain NEW DELHI, March 17 (Bernama) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bangladesh later this month in his first travel abroad since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Modi will attend the National Day programme of Bangladesh on March 26 as the guest of honour and hold talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Indian prime minister's office said in a statement on Tuesday. The Indian prime minister will also call on Bangladesh's President Mohammad Abdul Hamid during the March 26-27 visit. Modi's last visit to Bangladesh was in 2015 but since then he has interacted with his Bangladeshi counterpart many times via video conferencing. -- BERNAMA
