RM30 Mln Matching Grant For Mechanisation, Automation Of Palm Oil Industry - PM Muhyiddin

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) -- The government has approved a matching grant of RM30 million to encourage investments in mechanisation and automation of the palm oil industry under the Strategic Programme to Empower the People and Economy (PEMERKASA), introduced Wednesday. Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said a matching grant of RM20 million would also be allocated for the purchase of machinery for Sustainable Oil Palm Growers Cooperatives. “This is expected to benefit 65 cooperatives with a membership of 6,000 smallholders,” he said while unveiling PEMERKASA Wednesday. Aside from that, he said the Digitalisation Matching Grant initiative under Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) for companies has also been extended to cooperatives.
