One Policeman Killed, Another Hurt In Yala Pipe Bomb Attack

YALA, April 27 (Bernama) -- A policeman was killed and another injured after a pipe bomb was thrown at a security post in the Raman district in Yala Sunday. In the 6.45 pm (local time) incident, eight policemen were on duty to protect the safety of the people who were breaking fast. Yala Regional Police chief Maj Gen Tinnakorn Rangmat said two men on a motorcycle approached the security post and hurled the pipe bomb. He said the suspects also fired several shots at the security post before fleeing. "The two policemen on duty were seriously injured and rushed to hospital. One of them died at the hospital while the other is undergoing treatment,” he told reporters after visiting the location Monday. Meanwhile, another pipe bomb attack occurred at about 11.45 am Monday (local time) in the Resak district in Narathiwat. Two men on a motorcycle threw a pipe bomb at the security post there.
