SYAMSI MOST INFLUENTIAL RELIGIOUS LEADER IN NEW YORK
Jakarta, May 8 (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Muslim Community in New York Syamsi Ali had been granted an appreciation as a leader believed to have contributed a great deal to the public in to life itself in the United States, in New York particularly.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), this is the second appreciation after that from the New York Magazine in which I was installed in 2006 as one of the seven most influencial religious leaders in New York," the Imam, who hailed from Makassar, said at the Islamic Center in New York by SMS to Antara in Jakarta Friday.
The appreciation given to Syamsi caused great pride, because it was also given to famous individuals, such as former presidents, American political figures, businessmen like Donald Trump, athletes like Muhammad Ali and world figures like former UN general assembly predident Sheikha Haya Rashid Al Khalifa. ***5***
