RI ENVOY PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO WFP CHIEF

London, May 9 (ANTARA) - Indonesian Ambassador to Italy Mohamad Oemar has presented his credentials to the executive director of the World Food Program (WFP), Josette Sheeran, at the WFP office in Rome, an Indonesian diplomat said.

Agriculture Attache at the Indonesian embassy in Rome Erizal Sodikin told ANTARA in London on Saturday that on the occasion the Indonesian ambassador expressed appreciation and thanks to WFP for its assistance to Indonesia, particularly for Tsunami victims and other assistance such as school feeding programs.

Oemar also explained Indonesia's food assistance, rice in particular, that it provided bilaterally.

The WFP director meanwhile welcomed Oemar who had served in international bodies, particularly the World Trade Organization (WTO) which she said would play a role in supporting the WFP.***
