S. Korean relected as Badminton World Federation chief

GUANGZHOU, China, May 10 (Yonhap) -- Kang Young-joong, South Korean president of
the Badminton World Federation, was reelected to serve another four-year term at
the world's badminton governing body after beating his Malaysian challenger
Andrew Kam in a vote held here on Sunday.
Kang won 162 out of 232 votes cast, with Kam garnering 70, in the election in the
Chinese city of Guangzhou.
Kang, chairman of the Seoul-based children education company, the Daekyo Group,
was first elected as the federation's chief in 2005.
The badminton federation is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
