TELKOMSEL EARMARKS RP15 TRILLION FOR CAPEX THIS YEAR
Jakarta, May 11 (ANTARA) - PT Telkomsel, a cellular unit of publicly-listed state telecommunications operator PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, has set aside Rp15 trillion in funds for its capital expenditures (Capex) this year.
"The figure represents a 25 percent increase compared to 2008 when it was Rp12 trillion. Nearly 40 percent of the funds will be used for capacity expansion, 12 percent for coverage expansion, 30 percent for new services and 10 percent for other purposes," Telkomsel President Director Sarwoto Atmosutarno said here on Monday.
He said 70 percent of the funds could be originated from external and 30 percent from internal sources.
Telkomsel had set itself the target of attracting 20 million subscribers this year, or an increase of 25 percent compared to 2008 when the figure was 12 million.
To that end, the company would expand its market in and outside Java, he said.
