President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Tifatul Sembiring has suggested that chemistry must be taken into account in deciding the pairing of figures as presidential and vice presidential candidates. He said the combination of a nationalist figure and an Islamist one would be the best presidential and vice presidential ticket.

MAY '98 FAMILIES HIT OUT AT GENERALS
The families of the victims of the May 1998 riots marked the anniversary of the fateful events by expressing anger that the full story about the past tragedy has not been told - and that two of the military figures from that era are now involved in presidential politics. "The former chief of the Amry's Special Forces Prabowo Subinto and former military chief Wiranto have never been charged," said Ruyati Darwin, the mother of Eten Karyana, a University of Indonesia student who was killed in the Yogya department store fire in East Jakarta.

The Corruption Court heard Monday that a portion of embezzled funds taken from a state-owned company were given to then president Megawati Soekarnoputri in 2003, reports indicate. According to news services, a suspect told the court that Megawati received Rp500 million (US$48,000) from PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI).
