APARTMENT OWNERSHIP CREDIT INTEREST LOWERED

Surabaya, May 11 (ANTARA) - The market of apartment buildings has started to rise following the lowering of apartment building credit interest rates from 14 percent to 12 percent.

"The sale and renting of apartments are now increasing following the lowering of the BI rate in the last few months, causing a reduction in apartment ownership credits," Marketing Manager of Water Place Residence, Liliani Harsono, said in Surabaya Monday.

She said apartment sales in April increased by 10%, and 70 percent of the apartments were purchased by young couples.

"But with regard to payments, 50 percent used the apartment ownership credits covering a period of 10 years, and the rest make payments in interest-free installments to the developers for four years," he said.

Besides, he added, the sales increase were also triggered by the introduction of new programs of the marketing sides. Now his company is offering fully furnished apartments, which include furniture, household utensils, refrigerator, air conditioning, and television for each buyer.

He said that up till now of the 2,0000 apartment units built in four towers, 1,904 units had already been sold.
He also expressed optimism, that the remaining units would be sold out by the end of this year.
