Samsung to launch 3rd smartphone in U.S. market
SEOUL, May 15 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co., the world's second-largest maker of mobile phones, said Friday it will release its third smartphone model in the U.S. market next week.
The "Samsung Jack," which succeeds the Black Jack and Black Jack II, will be made
available next Tuesday exclusively to customers of AT&T Inc., one of the major
wireless operators in the U.S., Samsung said.
The new phone is equipped with Microsoft Corp.'s next-generation Windows Mobile
operating system and has fast Internet access, the company said.
The Jack is a slim and compact handset with an optimized keyboard for easy
messaging, including short messaging services (SMS), instant messaging and access
to multiple e-mail accounts, according to Samsung.
