YUDHOYONO ARRIVES AT GATOT SUBROTO HOSPITAL

Jakarta, May 18 (ANTARA) - The Democrat Party's presidential candidate, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the company of First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, arrived at the Army's Gatot Subroto Hospital here on Monday at 7.15 am for medical checkup.

On his arrival at the hospital, Yudhoyono was welcomed by Head of the hospital Dr. Brig. Supriyantoro and a number of the medical team's members.

Meanwhile Yudhoyono's running mate for the 2009 presidential elections, Boediono in the company of his wife Herawati arrived at the hospital at 6.45 for the same purpose.

Boediono had resigned from its position as Governor of Bank Indonesia (the central bank) after being chosen by the Democrat Party its vice presidential candidate.
Yudhoyono and Boediono were scheduled to undergo medical checks-up at 7.30 am. The medical tests by a medical team consisting of more than 50 doctors were expected to take place for 10 hours.

On the occasion, Yudhoyono was also accompanied by Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa.

The couples of presidential-vice presidential candidates Megawati Sukarnoputri (the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle) and Prabowo Subianto (Gerindra), and Jusuf Kalla (Golkar Party) who pairs with Wiranto (Hanura) had undergone medical tests on Sunday (May 17).

The candidates are required to undergo medical checkup to brace for the 2009 presidential-vice presidential elections. ***
