KPK HANDS PRESIDENTIAL/VICE PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS' WEALTH REPORTS TO KPU
Jakarta, May 22 (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has submitted the wealth reports of the presidential and vice presidential aspirants to the General Elections Commission (KPU), a KPK spokesman said.
KPK's spokesman Johan Budi said here on Friday the announcement of the results of the verification of the presidential and vice presidential candidates' wealth reports was the responsibility of the KPU which had the authority to conduct the polls.
The presidential and vice presidential aspirants were earlier scheduled to directly announce their wealth reports at the KPK building on Monday (May 25), he said.
Budi said further that any pair of presidential and vice presidential aspirants after winning the presidential election for the 2009-2014 term should file wealth reports as state officials.
In accordance with the regulation, state officials or apparatus are abliged to file their wealth reports before, during and after they their terms in office, he said.
KPK had clarified the wealth reports of presidential candidates Jusuf Kalla, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and
Megawati Soekarnputri on Tuesday (May 19), and those of vice presidential aspirants Wiranto, Prabowo Subianto, and Boediono on Wednesday (May 20).
Based on the tentative report which has yet to be clarified by the KPK, Prabowo Subianto is the richest candidate with Rp1.7 trillion in assets and Rp28 billion in cash, a number of motor vehicles, and assets in Argentine and France. ***1***
