SBY SUPPORTERS HOPE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION COMPLETED IN ONE ROUND
Jakarta, may 23 (ANTARA) - Supporters of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Naggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) province hope SBY will win the presidential election on July 8 in just one round.
In a statement received here on Saturday SBY supporters in NAD grouped in the Pro-SBY Movement (GPS) believed the election would be completed in only one round with SBY as the winner.
If the election could be finished one round, they said, it would be cheaper, adding that the people who were now also fed up with political processes only wished to see the economy's real sector to move again normally.
The GPS issued the statement following the declaration of GPS in Aceh.
The movement now already exists in other parts of Sumatra as well as in Java, Kalimantan and the country's eastern regions.
The declaration of GPS in Aceh was attended by GPS chief Suratto Siswodihardjo and other GPS leaders.
Suratto said he hoped security and peace in Aceh would be promoted following the presence of GPS in the region.
GPS Aceh chief Syamsudin meanwhile hoped future situation in Aceh would be better with the continuation of SBY leadership. "We in Aceh are grateful following the establishmen of peace and security in the region during SBY-JK leadership," he said.
He said he hoped the GPS Aceh could become a forum for unity and a healthy place to vent positive aspirations developing in the community. ***
