WIRANTO: ECONOMY MUST BE STRENGTHENED TO WIN WORLD`S RESPECT
Pangkalpinang, Indonesia, May 23 (ANTARA) - Vice Presidential Candidate Wiranto, supported by the Golkar and the People's Conscience Party (Hanura), said that the nation's economy should be strengthened so that Indonesia could become a respected nation.
"The nation's economy should be strengthened in order to make the state respected and recognized by other countries in international relations and diplomacy with other nations in the world," he said here on Saturday.
He said the Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto ticket was resolved to build Indonesia in creating justice and national self-reliance because it was only through national self-reliance that justice could be upheld for the sake of the Indonesian people.
"Therefore, the Indonesian economy should be improved to gain recognition from other countries and by doing so the nation's dignity can be maintained," he said.
For that purpose, he added, the Kalla-Wiranto pair's vision was the manifestation of justice, self-reliance and the nation's dignity to enable Indonesia to make progress on a par with other countries in the world.
He said the important thing in the upcoming presidential election was fulfilling the people's conscience wishing for change.
"The presidential election is not only aimed at making the Kalla-Wiranto pair win, but winning the people's conscience desiring for a better fate in the future. Hopefully the change will be gained by the people through the Kalla-Wiranto duo," he said.
Other presidential and vice presidential candidates will certainly have strategies to win the political fight in the presidential election, he said.
"Other tickets will work hard to win the upcoming presidential election. Practically Kalla-Wiranto's victory will also constitute the that of the people which in conclusion depends on the performance of campaign team to become the best working team who will be able to convince and to encourage the people to go to the polling station to choose the Kalla-Wiranto pair," he said.***
