MAIN INSTRUMENTS OF CRASHED HERCULES NOW FOCUS OF EVACUATION

Magetan, Indonesia,, May 23 (ANTARA) - The evacuation team of the C-130 Hercules aircraft which crashed in Magetan, East Java, on Wednesday (May 20) is currently focusing on finding the plane's main instruments, a spokesman said.

The search for the plane's important instruments such as its throtle was conducted mainly around the cockpit, head of the operational base section of Iswahyudi military airbase, Major Ali Sudibyo, said here Saturday.

The Hercules which was on its way from Jakarta to Madiun, East Java, on Wednesday was carrying 110 military personnel and their families when it crashed into several houses on the ground and burst into flames, killing at least 101 people.

The search for the main instruments needed in the investigation process was being conducted by a team assigned by the Air Force, he said.

The investigation on the throtle would help uncover the aircraft's speed at the last second before it crashed, he added.

In the meantime, the SAR team has stopped searching for victims of the crash as all people who had been on board the ill-fated transport plane had been accounted for. ***
