ITALIAN TRADE COMMISSION ANNOUNCES 1ST EDITION OF DESIGN WEEK

Jakarta, May 25 (ANTARA) - The Italian Trade Commission in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Jakarta and Federlegno - Arredo Italia is proud to present a celebration on Italian style, it was reported here Monday.

Italian Design Week - taking place in Jakarta - showcases Italian ingenuity in furnishings and design. The event is scheduled to be held from June 3 - 14, 2009, the Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy said.

The embassy also invited national media representatives, designers and industry professional to take part in the event by visiting the following participation rooms in Jakarta.

There will be nine Jakarta showrooms participating in the event, representing over 60 Italian companies - Vastuhome, Ambiente, Archipelago, Smeg Gallery, Transliving, Stellamobill, Sognoltaliano, Melandas, and Decourous.

To mark the opening of the Italian Design Week on June 3, a seminar on New Trend on Interior Design; Italian and Indonesian Experience will be held with Architect and Interior Designer Francesco Lucchese from Italy and Interior Designer Naning S.S. Adiwoso from Indonesia as speakers.

The seminar will be moderated by Interior Designer Leonard Theosabrata.
