27,000 Kurosawa Items Digitized

Tokyo, May 27 (Jiji Press)--Kurosawa Production and Ryukoku
University said Tuesday they have completed digital archiving of 27,431
items related to the late Akira Kurosawa, the world-famous Japanese film
director.
The digitized items include Kurosawa's handwritten notes, scripts
and pictures, some of which are made public for the first time.
Nearly 20,000 items can be viewed online free of charge. The
remaining archived material, such as his films, cannot be uploaded due to
copyright issues.
Kurosawa Production President Hisao Kurosawa said it is likely that
more items related to Kurosawa have been digitized than those of any other
director.
