PKB HOPES COALITION WITH DEMOCRATS PROFITABLE

Semarang, Indonesia, May 27 (ANTARA) - The National Awakening Party (PKB) has expressed hope that its coalition with the Democratic Party for the July 8 presidential election would be profitable.

"We do want feedback on our coalition with the Democratic Party to support the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Boediono (SBY) duo in the election," PKB spokesman Abdul Kadir Karding said here on Tuesday.

He said through the coalition, PKB cadres would at least have important positions in the government in order to actualize the party's ideas among the public.

"But we do not have a target. We will certainly give our full support to the Democrats," Abdul Kadir said, adding that the party's support for the SBY-Boediono pair was justified because the pair was an ideal one to lead the nation in the next five years.

The SBY-Boediono leadership, Abdul Kadir said, would bring a significant change in the community.

"We also want to find a solution to the unemployment problem and try to reduce the number of jobless people through the coastal and rural area development programs," he said.

In addition, he said private and government schools would have similar proportion.

"We hope SBY, if he wins the election, will make a change in the education and economic sectors in rural areas," he said.***
