RI ACCUSED OF COMMITTING 116 DUMPING ACTS
Semarang, Indonesia, May 27 (ANTARA) - Indonesia has been accused of committing 116 dumping acts in 32 export destination countries in the 1995-2007 period.
"We have a great concern over the dumping practice charges addressed to Indonesia between 1995 and 2007 following the establishment of the World Trade Organization (WTO)," Indonesian Anti Dumping Commission (KADI) chairwoman Halida Miljani said here on Wednesday.
Therefore, Halida said, she and a number of other related parties had disseminated anti dumping information to a number of parties in an effort to overcome unfair trade competition.
"We also want to have direct communication with many other parties concerned, namely the business community, universities, legal practitioners, and non-governmental organizations assigned to apply anti dumping regulations," she said.
Through the direct communication, Halida said a common understanding about international trade competition issues could be realized.
She said similar activities would be made by KADI in a number of areas to make people there aware of its existence.
"Compared with other countries such as India, the number of dumping acts allegedly committed by Indonesia is small because India is accused of having committed 372 dumping acts in the same period," Halida said.***
