PRESIDENT ATTENDS MASS PRAYING EVENT AT ISTIQLAL MOSQUE
Jakarta, May 30 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, attended the "dzikir" or national praying function at the Istiqlal Mosque here on Saturday evening.
The president on the occasion was among others accompanied by the first lady Ani Yudhoyono at around 08:05 pm Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB), and more than 3,000 Muslims.
In the event, a muslim intellectual As-Sayyid Sheikh Mohammad Hisham Kabbani, who wrote a number of Islamic books, presented lectures.
Also present Jakarta's Governor Fauzi Bowo and a number of officials accompanying the President and the First Lady.
People coming to the event not only from the East, but also from Bekasi, Tangerang, Depok, Jakarta and environs. ***
