Jakarta, May 31 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government on Sunday expressed concern about North Korea's nuclear test and stressed the need to preserve stability in the Korean peninsula.

North Korea announced on Monday that it successfully conducted an underground nuclear test. Its previous test was carried out in 2006.

Yonhap news agency quoted an unidentified South Korean official as saying the missile is a new type of ground-to-air missile estimated to have a range of up to 260 kilometers.
Dino said Indonesia stressed the need to preserve stability in the peninsula. "And constant efforts need to be made (to solve the issue) through six-party talks."
The ASEAN-Korea Commemorative Summit which will bring together leaders of 10 ASEAN member countries and South Korea takes place on June 1-2 in the southern resort island of Jeju, South Korea.
