KPU DISCLOSES THREE CANDIDATE PAIRS' CAMPAIGN FUNDS
Jakarta, June 2 (ANTARA) - The General Elections Commission (KPU) here Tuesday disclosed the amounts of campaign funds each of the three presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairs had received and reported to the commission.
The Megawati Soekarnoputri - Prabowo Subianto pair had received a total of Rp20.005 billion, of which Rp15.005 billion had come from Subianto himself and Rp5 billion from Megawati herself, KPU Chairman Abdul Hafiz Anshary said here Tuesday.
The Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Boediono pair had collected campaign funds totaling Rp20.3 billion and the Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto pair Rp10.25 billion.
"The reports from the three pairs also mentioned the sources or donors of the funds," Anshary said.
Asked who the biggest donors to the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Boediono pair were, the KPU chief said PT Shohibul Barokah contributed Rp5 billion and PT Tri Manunggal Cipta Abadi Rp3.5 billion."There were also individual donors," he said.
Among the contributors to the campaign fund of the Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto pair were the Golkar Party which chipped in Rp7 billion and the Hanura Party which gave Rp3 billion.
Under the provisions of Law No 42/2008 on presidential elections,, individuals are permitted to contribute a maximum of Rp1 billion , and groups, companies or state enterprises a maximum of Rp 5 billion to presidential campaign funds.
Contributions from the presidential and vice-presidential candidates themselves, however, were not subject to any limit.
