"The trade sector will be one of the priorities discussed at the meeting besides investment, tourism, education, as well as small and medium enterprises and industry," the Indonesian foreign ministry's director general of America and Europe, Retno L.P. Marsudi, said.

The meeting was a follow up of a similar meeting on September 27-28 2005 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

To realize the committment an agreement was signed by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and its Ukraine counterpart at the second meeting.

The signing was done by Didie W Soewardho for Kadin and Serhiy Tarhoniy for Ukraine.

The two sides agreed to promote contact between businessmen to open opportunities for economic and trade cooperation.

She said Indonesia's exports to Ukraine were mainly crude palmoil, furniture and handicrafts while Ukraine's exports to the country were mainly steel and heavy equipment.

"Just now Ukraine also offers its Antonov aircraft," she said.

Retno said the two countries were still exploring around six cooperation agreements namely in the field of tourism, national standardization, science and technology, commerce vessels, sister-city relationship and defense.

The Ukraine delegation to the meeting, Olexander Gorin, who is also current Ukraine deputy foreign minister said that Ukraine was also interested in cooperating in the field of outerspace. The agreement on it was signed in November 2008 and it is now waiting for ratification, he said.

The number of foreign tourists from Ukraine rose ten times higher from 541 in 2000 to 5201 in 2007.
