RI'S APRIL IMPORTS FROM CHINA WORTH $917 MILLION
Jakarta, June 2 (ANTARA) - Indonesia in April imported non-oil/non-gas commodities worth US$917.4 million from China, accounting for 17.47 percent of its total imports.
"In terms of countries of origin of key commodities, China was the biggest," head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Rusman Heriawan said here on Tuesday.
Japan trailed behind in second place with US$665.8 million (12.68 percent), followed by Singapore US$584.9 million (11.14 percent), and the United States US$466.6 million (8.88 percent).
Meanwhile, Indonesia's imports from South Korea in April were valued at US$308.6 million (5.88 percent), Thailand US$287.3 million (5.47 percent), Australia US$234.4 million (4.46 percen), Malaysia US$205.1 million (3.91 percent), Germany US$173.3 million (3.30 percent), and Taiwan US$166.5 million (3.17 percent).
Imports from France and the United Kingdom were valued at US$111.8 million (2.13 percent) and US$82.4 million (1.57 percent) respectively.
"Overall, the imports from the 12 countries accounted for 80.05 percent of the total," he said.***2***
