JK-WIN TEAM NOT SURE OF VICTORY IN ONE ROUND

Jakarta, June 3 (ANTARA) - The national campaign team of presidential candidate Jusuf Kalla dare not speculate that its candidate would be able to win the election on July 8 in one round.

The team's deputy head of image building, Indra Jaya Piliang, said here on Wednesday he could not yet say with certainty whether his candidate would be able to win the race in just one round or had to face a run-off.

"From an academic logical point of view it will be difficult for a candidate to win the race in one round because there are three contestants participating in it," he said at JK-Win Center.

He added that campaigning was also still a long way to go so that it was now still very difficult to predict if the race would finish in just one round.

Indra said his team targeted collecting as many votes as possible and for that it had already set up success teams across the country.

"Last week we still had yet to form another team for a region in the eastern part. However it is likely that the team will have been set up by Sunday," he said.

A politician from Kalla's Golkar Party, Ferry Mursyidan Baldan, meanwhile said to make Kalla and his running mate Wiranto from the Hanura Party able to win the race the two parties would not only exploit all their political infrastructures but also other instruments such as volunteers.

"They have been established across the country," he said.

Jusuf Kalla who is currently the vice president will compete against incumbent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and former president Megawati Soekarnoputri in the race.

Yudhoyono has recruited former chief economic minister and central bank governor Boediono to be his running mate for the election while Megawati will pair up with former military figure Prabowo Subianto. Kalla's running mate, Wiranto, is also a former miliatary commander. ***
