VP ON WORKING VISIT IN WEST JAVA
Jakarta, June 4 (ANTARA) - Vice President M Jusuf Kalla was scheduled to make a one-day working visit in West Java, Thursday.
According to information from the vice presidential secretariat here on Thursday, Kalla would conduct several activities in West Java.
He would have meetings with the Younger Generation of Siliwangi, and with rectors and chairman of Islamic universities and mass organizations. Kalla would also attend an event organized by the Association of Rural Apparatus (APDESI).
He would later install 'Pelangi' (Rainbow) volunteers, and visit Darul Fallah Islamic boarding school at Sumur, Bandung, to meet the school's leader Asep Burhanuddin.
Meanwhile, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Jusuf Kalla have coordinated with each other on the schedules of their leaves to campaign for the July 8 presidential election.
Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa said last Tuesday (June 2), he would submit the schedules of their leaves to the General Elections Commission (KPU) in one or two days' time.
"Today the President applied for leave in line with the campaigning schedule set by the KPU and relevant government regulations, namely one day per week," he said.
He said Vice President Jusuf Kalla had also applied for leave to the office of the minister/state secretary.
Yudhoyono, Kalla and former president Megawati Soekarnoputri will compete in the presidential race next July.
Hatta said there was no regulation stating that during a leave for presidential campaigning scheduled from June 2 to July 4, one of them must stay in Jakarta.
