YUDHOYONO STARTS CAMPAIGNING
Jakarta, June 4 (ANTARA) - Presidential candidate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono started campaigning for the presidential race on July 8 on Thursday with a limited meeting attended by around 2,000 people.
The campaign meeting at Hall D of the Jakarta Fair Arena in Kemayoran which was scheduled to start at 7.30pm would be filled with political speeches from Yudhoyono and also his running mate, Boediono.
A stage had been set up at the hall which looked like that used by President Obama during his presidential campaign.
Banners were put up on the wall sorrounding the hall carrying h slogans like "Continue", "Choose Number 2" and "Clean Government for the People".
Yudhoyono will compete against Jusuf Kalla, the current vice president, and former president Megawati Soekarnoputri in the race.
