KALLA NOT INFLUENCED BY POPULARITY SURVEY FINDINGS
Palu, C Sulawesi, June 5 (ANTARA) - Presidential candidate Jusuf Kalla said he was not influenced by the results of various surveys that had often put him below other candidates in terms of electability.
"Such surveys only apply for certain periods and not for the polling date," he said after installing a regional campaign team here on Friday.
He said however he hoped his campaign teams would take a lesson from the survey results.
"If the JK-Win (Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto) ticket's rating is low it means we must work harder. However if it is on top it does not mean that we can relax," he said.
He said although the JK-Win's popularity was below that of SBY-Boediono (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Boediono), the gap was continuing to narrow.
"So it is not impossible that we will overtake them and eventually be on top," he said.
Kalla pairing up with former military leader Wiranto would compete against SBY who would run with economist Boediono and former president Megawati Soekarnoputri who would pair up with former military figure Prabowo in the race to be held later on July 8.
