KALLA'S DAUGHTER JOINS HIS CAMPAIGN

Semarang, June 5 (ANTARA) - Khairani, presidential candidate Jusuf Kalla's daughter, seems to have joined her father's campaign in the runup to the race on July 8.

Khairani was seen attending an art performance event and declaration of "Young Friends of JK-Win (Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto) in the Pekunden Flat compound in East Semarang on Friday.

The art performance presenting some young talented singers suprised the flat dwellers totalling aruond 100 families and made them all to go out to see the rare event in the neighbourhood.

Posters were seen being set up to introduce the presence of the Young Friends of JK-Win, led by Khairani.

Khairani said with the event she wished to entertain the flat dwellers and the people in the neighbourhood and "introduce us to the people as young friends supporting JK-Win who are ready to accommodate all parties to join in the movement."
She said the Young Friends's activity was not only supporting JK-Win but organizing social activities, university student discussions and music performances.

"We are also serving to channel the younger generation' aspirations to the government," she said.

She said several days ago the group had also organized an interactive discussion with Jusuf Kalla, the incumbent vice president. "Everybody may express themselves to reflect freedom of speech for the nation's progress," she said.

She said the group had had chapters in several big cities namely Jakarta, Makassar, Banda Aceh and Semarang.

She said the group accommodated young people who wished to support JK-Win. "We will work hard to mobilize young men to boost support for JK-Win," she said.
