Tasikmalaya, June 6 (ANTARA) - The Golkar Party and People's Conscience (Hanura) Party in Tasikmalaya district, West Java, have consolidated themselves for the victory of the Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto duo (JK-Win) in the July 8 presidential election.
The consolidation was done at a meeting at the Golkar office here on Saturday to devise a special strategy for the JK-Win pair's victory in the election.
JK-Win campaign team spokesman Eris (one name) said the consolidation meeting on Saturday was intended to set up election monitoring teams consisting of Golkar and Hanura cadres in Tasikmalaya.
"The consolidation meeting was intended to prepare Golkar and Hanura cadres to tightly monitor the process of the presidential election in July," Eris said.
Earlier, on Thursday, Jusuf Kalla and Wiranto in Bandung installed their campaign team for West Java, dubbed "West Java Rainbow Volunteers."
"Wiranto and I are an archipelagic pair for the presidential election because together we want to develop the archipelago," Jusuf Kalla said before hundreds of Rainbow Team members in Bandung on Thursday.
According to the presidential candidate from the Golkar Party, Indonesia had great potentials to make progress.
"Therefore, we want to make our nation more peaceful and more independent in the economic sector," Kalla said, adding that these goals could only be achieved through hard work and cooperation with all parties.
Commenting on equitable economic development in the country, Kalla said there should be no social imbalance between the rich and the poor in Indonesia.
"Social imbalances between the rich and the poor, and between one region and another should not be allowed to worsen," Kalla told the voluntary team which is to be supported by 40 mass organizations in West Java to help the JK-Win duo win the July 8 election.
Jusuf Kalla and Wiranto on Thursday in Bandung also met with the rectors of several Islamic colleges and Islamic mass organizations in Bandung.
The purpose of the closed-door gathering at Manglayang room of Horison Hotel was considered part of JK-Wiranto's effort to gain greater support from the West Java community for his bid in the upcoming July 8 presidential election.
