JK-WIN DUO'S BANTEN CAMPAIGN TEAM TARGETS 4 MILLION VOTES
Serang, June 6 (ANTARA) - The Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto pair's "Archipelago Rainbow Volunteers" campaign team for Banten province has set itself the target of winning 4 million votes in the July 8 presidential election.
"I am optimistic the JK-Win pair will garner 4 million votes," the team's spokesman, Ahmad Syarif, said here on Saturday.
Ahmad Syarif said, to achieve the target, the team's 250 volunteers would work as hard as they could in Banten's six districts and municipalities.
He said each volunteer was expected to be able to persuade 10 to 15 people to vote for Jusuf Kalla and Wiranto in the July 8 presidential election.
In addition, they would also try to get the support of various segments of the public in the province by applying a word of mouth to mouth and door-to-door campaign strategy.
Such a strategy, he said, was more practical and effective than mobilizing a mass of people for open air campaigns in the field.
"Our target is to make the JK-Win duo win the first round of the presidential election," Syarif said, adding that Jusuf Kalla who was nominated by the Golkar Party, and Wiranto of the People's Conscience (Hantura) Party as Kalla's running mate were the best possible cadres of the two parties.
Syarif said there was no doubt Kalla and Wiranto had the needed capability to lead the nation and improve the people's welfare.
"We believe that Jusuf Kalla has high accountability, integrity, and capability to make this nation develop in a better way," he said.
According to Syaris, there were Archipelagic Rainbow Volunteer teams in 16 provinces and they would work hard for the victory of the JK-Win duo.
"The volunteers are mostly found outside Java island," he said, adding he was sure 4 million of Banten's 7.1 million people would vote for the JK-Win ticket.
