MEGA-PRABOWO TEAM UNAFFECTED BY SURVEYS
Jakarta, June 7 (ANTARA) - The campaign team of the Megawati Soekarnoputri and Prabowo Subianto ticket is unaffected by various surveys conducted by private institutions, a spokesman said.
Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) Central Executive Board chairman Syukrianto Yulia said here on Monday the results of the surveys were not independent.
"It is a public secret that the results of the surveys are not independent because they are beneficial only to certain presidential and vice presidential candidates," Syukrianto Yulia said.
According to him, the Mega-Prabowo team of success would not be provoked by the results of the surveys because the people have been smarter and wiser in electing their leaders.
Commenting on the result of a survey conducted by Information Research Institute (LRI) which indicated that the level of Mega-Prabowo electability was only 20.09 percent, Syukrianto said the team would not be provoked because the figure could not be made as a reference.
"The surveys are in season at present but they cannot be used as a reference and therefore they should not have been publicized but for the internal interest for the presidential and vice presidential candidate concerned," he said.
He added the different institution made different survey with different results because the main point was inseparable from certain presidential and vice presidential candidates effort to strengthen their own position among the people.
Asked if Mega-Prabowo team would make a comparative survey, Syukrianto said it was not necessary but at internal level the team had made its own survey for the internal interest.
He said the result of survey made by Mega-Prabowo team was satisfactory because the duo was at the top position compared with the other rivals.
"Without much to say, Mega-Prabowo position gets stronger and stronger than the other presidential and vice presidential candidates but I don't have to mention the result because it is for our own internal interest," Sykrianto said.
He added that the stronger position of Mega-Prabowo pair was inseparable from the people's understanding that the duo was pro people.***
