YUDHOYONO EXTENDS CONDOLENCES OVER PD TREASURER'S DEATH
Semarang, C Java, June 9 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who is also chief of the Democratic Party (PD)'s advisory board on Tuesday extended condolences over the death of party treasurer Zainal Abidin.
"He died of ailment. Let me extend my condolences to the bereaved. May God accept his soul," he said.
He also offered an apology for not attending the funeral of Zainal who was also the treasurer of the campaign team of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Boediono presidential and vice presidential ticket.
Yudhoyono will vie with former president Megawati Soekarnoputri and incumbent Vice President Jusuf Kalla in the July 8 presidential race.
Zainal who was also known as a businessman and chief of an Islamic boarding school died of a heart attack at Husada Hospital in Jakarta on Monday.***5***
