MEGA-PR0 CAMPAIGN TEAM SENDS MOBILE UNITS ACROSS COUNTRY
Jakarta, June 11 (ANTARA) - The national campaign team of the Megawati-Prabowo (Mega-Pro) presidential and vice presidential ticket here Thursday sent off a fleet of 60 cars to different destinations in the country to support its vote-collecting activities.
Megawati officially saw off the campaign cars at her residence in Teuku Umar street in Central Jakarta.
The cars are of new design and never publicized before in the country, said Fadli Zon, secretary of the Mega-Pro national campaign team.
"The cars will support our campaign activities in all regions in Java and Sumatra," he said.
The right and left sides of the cars bear Mega-Pro campaign messages, he said.
In addition, each car was equipped with a sound system and cameras, Zon said.
The cars' function, in addition to publicizing the presidential and vice presidential hopefuls' vision and mission, was to familiarize the public with the duo's working program in easy-to-understand language.
"The mobile campaign cars can easily reach constituents living in all corners of cities and villages," he said.
Meanwhile, Megawati on the occasion said that the mobile campaign units bore the task of publicizing the Mega-Pro's vision and mission ahead of the July 8 election.
"We hope that these cars can be used in the most effective ways possible," she said in her address.
Three presidential and vice presidential aspirants namely
Megawati-Prabowo, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Boediono, and Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto will compete in the upcoming direct presidential polls on July 8, 2009. *** 1 ***
